It's been awhile....

It's been awhile since I've had the time to blog. Not having our convenient laptop has definitely impeded my progress! Still waiting to get it back! Hopefully, this week!

Anyway, we'll start with a little photo bomb! Logan's 5 month pictures went fantastic! Why 5 months, you ask? Because our Picture People was closing for good on 2/15 and I couldn't resist getting $300 worth of pictures and frames for only $85! So, here's a few of my favorites!

Ok, photo bomb done! lol
Poor Jackson was deathly sick, so he wasn't in the pictures. I felt bad for leaving him out, but there was no rescheduling these since PP were closing so soon, and honestly, with as amazing as they turned out, I'm glad I didn't! Logan is the 2nd baby, and if you were the 2nd baby in a family, you know that pictures of you are limited. It's the whole "been there, done that" kinda thing. Although...I'm the first-born...lol..I just want to make sure Logie isn't left out, since we had pictures of Jackson every 3 months his first year! Next up will be Jackson's 3 year pictures in late May, so he'll be 8 months old. Then his 1 year in late August! I freaking love pictures!!!!!

Anyway, as mentioned, poor Jackson was sick as a dog. He started looking a little down after pre-school on Wednesday, but I thought he could just use more sleep. Friday he wasn't eating much and coughing harder than usual. Saturday morning he had a 102 degree fever. He went to my parents while we took Logie for his pictures and he spiked up to 104. I really thought we'd have to take him to the hospital....We brought him home and gave him a cool bath, and that helped. By morning he was down to 98.6, but it would spike back up to 100 a few times during the day....He really hasn't eaten in 2 days....Poor bug is going to miss his Valentine's Day party tomorrow at school...I feel so bad for him!!

Speaking of V-day....I got an awesome gift! Ted let me go back to sleep after Logan ate, then did the laundry for me! Woooohoooooo!! I don't want flowers or candy. I have allergies, and I'm big enough without adding 2 lbs of candy on top of it! All I wanted was a little help! All that's left is the kids clothes, and that's fine, because I'm totally anal about it since they have their skin problems...Actually, that's why I have the time to blog. I'm down in the basement waiting for the 2nd rinse cycle on the washer...

This week will be hectic. I work Monday and Tuesday nights, Wednesday we head to Morgantown, WV (Goooo Mountaineers!!) for the boys to see the Allergist about their eczema and Jackson's asthma...Thursday, I have to have an EMG nerve conduction test done on my arms to find out what's up with my numbness. I'm worried that it's going to cause me to drop one of the kids one of these days....Sunday is my momma's birthday, so we'll be heading out to dinner wherever she wants!
I'm also going to start cooking and freezing some baby food for Logan this week. I decided to be semi "crunchy" and be a baby food makin' momma! It's better for him, and with his skin issues, I want to be 100% sure of what's going in to his body. Unfortunately, due to work, my breast milk supply has dropped some, so I've had to supplement with formula a few times. Ted doesn't understand why it bums me out, but I feel like it's the ONE thing I have that only I can provide Logan. No one can take him from me this way..........I just hope I can keep my supply up enough to be his primary nourishment, and only have to give formula when absolutely necessary!! It'll be 5 months on Thursday! I really want to make it 1 year..

Well, I've written enough for now, and I just remembered that I still need to finish Jackson's Valentine's treat bags for his little school friends. Even though he won't be there, I'm still going to drop them off at school in the morning.

Please pray for my laptop so that I can get back to blogging more regularly. It's therapeutic!! :)

VIRUS?!

The stupid laptop has a virus, and I can't get it looked at for a few days, so posting will be limited to when I can make my way to our desktop tucked away in the corner of the basement! Blah!

Logan has a dermatologist appointment tomorrow to have his eczema checked out again, then his 4 month appointment is finally on Thursday afternoon, so I'm sure I'll have something to post about then!

Weekend Recap...

We had a nice, uneventful weekend...Friday was Ted's last day of his mandated "vacation." He had to go back to work Saturday morning after his bullshit suspension....Aside from the fact that he lost 4 days of pay, it was great having him home with me and the kids. We never get to spend that much time together, so it was nice to relax and stay up together and talk without the kids screaming or him falling asleep in mid-conversation....We got our grocery shopping done early Friday, and then went to my parents after dinner to hang out with them...

Saturday, I took the kids to my parents for breakfast while Ted was at work. Now that Jackson isn't allergic to eggs (so says his allergist and the multitude of testing I subjected the poor bug to!) we're slowly starting to re-introduce egg into his diet.  So far, so good! Ted and Jackson went outside to build a snowman during the afternoon, and then Saturday evening, our friends Cory and Erica came over to see the kids.  They're getting married this summer, so we talked about wedding things, and Jackson got new people to play with! Poor Erica was his spring board for the evening. I'll bet she slept good!!

Today I had a pretty busy day, but it was mostly by choice. Ted went to work around 8, so I had the kids to myself all day. I had a ton of laundry to get done, and I wanted to get some cooking done for the week...I didn't get much done until Ted got home at 2. I did some laundry, and fell asleep on the couch for about 45 minutes while Logan napped in his swing and Jackson played with his tools and watched Handy Manny. Once Ted got home and Jackson went down for his nap, I made pepperoni rolls, chili, a huge pot of chicken noodle soup, and lastly, I baked some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies!! My chicken noodle soup got a little out of control. I started with a small pot, and ended up with a vat. The damn noodles kept soaking up the broth, so I had to keep adding more and more broth! Oh well, it was really good! We had soup and grilled cheese for dinner...Tomorrow night will be chili...I'm thinking of a pot roast on Tuesday. I work Monday and Tuesday night, so I like to make things in the crock pot those days and let them slow cook all day while I sleep.
After dinner, my brother stopped over to see the kids. He got to experience the fun of fighting Jackson to take his bath (he loves his bath, hates having his hair washed!) and the struggle of giving Jackson his nightly Albuterol doses.  Asthma in a 2 year old SUCKS!! I've been bribing him with cookies...Such a horrible thing, but he needs the Albuterol, or else he coughs all night until he throws up. We got the kids to bed, and looked out, Scott was passed out sleeping in the recliner...lol...I started baking the cookies, and after the first batch were out of the oven, he woke up...Go figure! Typical guy!!

Now, I'm just sitting here, reliving my weekend, getting ready to tackle the large laundry basket of 3-6 month and 2T clothing that needs to be folded and put away. Also planning on catching up on the season finale of my guilty pleasure, Jerseylicious...lol...Yes, I admit it. I love that show. I hate Jersey Shore, but I LOVE Jerseylicious!!  Need to try to stay up late tonight and not get much sleep so that I can take Jackson to pre-school in the morning, drop Logan off at Ted's parents, and then come home and try to get 3-4 hours of sleep before getting up and getting ready for work...

And so starts another week! This week will be awesome. Counting down the hours until the Steelers are in Superbowl XLV!! Time to bring #7 back home to the Steel City!!

Welcome!

Welcome to my crazy little corner of the interwebz.
First off, let me tell you a little about myself..
I'm Andrea, and I'm a 27 year old mother of 2 adorable little boys, and wife to Ted. Which means, I'm a mother of 3 little boys!
Ted and I met and started dating when we were 17 and still in high school. Flash forward 5 years, and we got engaged on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Flash forward another 2 years to June 30, 2007, and we had what has come to be known as "The Wedding Of The Ages!" Amazing time, with amazing family and friends. I couldn't have asked for a better time!
11 months and 19 days later, we welcomed our first child, Jackson Scott into the world. Jackson was an early anniversary gift that just couldn't wait. He was due on our 1st anniversary, but was born by emergency C-section on June 19, 2008. He is a ball of energy, the smartest, most perfect, adorable little angel. "(In his grandparent's eyes, of course!) Jackson is seriously an awesome kid. He's so smart and so funny, that I honestly wonder how he is ours!
In October 2009, when Jackson was about 16 months old, we decided he needed a sibling. As luck would have it, by January, I was pregnant with Mr. Logan James. Logan was born by repeat C-section on September 17th. If every c-section and recovery could be like that, I'd have a million kids! Logan was born at 7:20 AM on Friday, and we were discharged on Sunday morning. I wasn't able to get up and move around for 24 hours after his birth thanks to the spinal, but once I was able, there was no stopping me!
Logan, or Logie as he's lovingly referred to, is such an easy baby! He's had no issues with sleeping aside from maybe 2 nights. He nurses like a champ, and is always smiley and pleasant. He's currently singing to me from his swing right now....
We have our 2 "furbabies" Layla and Zoey the boxers. They came into our lives right after our wedding, and they have been Jackson's constant companions for the better part of his life. Logan is still a little wary of them right now, but once he's mobile, watch out girls!

So, you see my blog title and think "hmm, aren't all moms sleepy?" Well, my "Sleepy Mom" title refers to my job title, as well as being an exhausted mommy! I'm a polysomnography technician for a large sleep center in Pittsburgh. AKA, I do sleep studies! I've been working in Sleep Medicine for going on 5 years, and I can say that I really do love my job! I'm only working part time because my duties as a mom are far more important (obviously) and working nights takes me away from my babies a lot more than I'd like. Plus, Ted works a crappy schedule as well. He  goes to work at 3 AM, so any night I work, the kids have to stay at their grandparents, and that interferes with sleeping well. They have their own beds/rooms and that's where I prefer them to be! The way it works now, they only have to be away from home 1 night a week.

Anyway, that's my life, in a small nutshell. Stay tuned for the antics of my small, but hilarious family!
